Das Stupa in Bodnath,Kathmandu ist eines der Größten und Schönsten seiner Art, ein heiliger Ort, UNESCO Kulturerbe und eine bei Touristen beliebte Sehenswürdigkeit. Doch es ist auch ein Platz eines nicht in Worte fassbaren Protests, bei dem sich mittlerweile mehrere tibetische Mönche selbst in Brand setzten und es zu zahlreichen Demonstrationen kam, um so auf den andauernden Konflikt zwischen Tibet und China aufmerksam zu machen. Eine von China ausdrücklich unerwünschte Aufmerksamkeit, welche das wirtschaftlich abhängige Nepal, mit einem wechselnden Aufgebot von Polizei und paramilitärische Einheit „A.P.F.“ zu verhindern sucht.

The Boudhanath Stupa in Kathmandu is one of the largest and finest of its kind, a sacred place, a UNESCO Heritage Site and a popular tourist attraction. How ever it is also a place of an undescribable protest in which several Tibetan monks set themselves on fire, and numerous demonstrations try to attention on the ongoing conflict between Tibet and China. An explicitly unwanted attention from China, which seeks the economically dependent Nepal to prevent by a changing array of police and the paramilitary force „APF“.
